Dinosaur Capital of the World

As one of the world's hotbeds for remnants of creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago, Alberta is perfect for a prehistoric adventure. Feel like you've entered another world on the Dinosaur Trail, check out the Guinness World Record fossils at the Royal Tyrrell Museum, become a palaeontologist for a day at the famed Dinosaur Provincial Park and look for fossils at the ‘River of Death’. For the perfect snap, head to Drumheller for a shot inside the mouth of a giant T-Rex!

Waterton Lakes National Park

This tranquil National Park packs a wealth of natural beauty into a compact area. Here, vast prairies meet the rugged Rockies, complete with a sparkling lake, thundering waterfalls, rainbow-hued streams and a hilltop castle straight out of a fairytale. You can take a cruise on the serene waters of Waterton Lake but, thanks to the park's proximity to high-alpine terrain, you can just as easily immerse yourself in stunning summit views within an hour of leaving the charming town of Waterton.

Alberta's

Cowboy Trail

Steeped in history, the Cowboy Trail is a scenic route through the Rocky Mountain Foothills. From Calgary, head south along Highway 22, towards the U.S. border. As you travel through authentic ranch towns and small rural communities, a variety of western themed experiences await, such as horseback trail rides, ranch stays and historic site visits.
