Jasper

Raw, rugged and wild, Jasper is your ultimate gateway to Canada’s great outdoors, spanning vast backcountry trails and towering mountains.  In Jasper, spotting native wildlife grazing by the roadside, discovering serene lakes with not a soul around or marvelling at the vivid green dance of the Northern Lights are all part of the experience. At the heart of this wilderness lies a vibrant town, small and cosy yet big enough to cater to every visitor’s needs.

Jasper's magic transforms with the seasons – there is no ‘perfect’ time to visit, just the right time for the adventure you seek. Whether you dream of ice climbing frozen canyons, trekking across glaciers, rafting through cascading waterfalls, practising yoga on an idyllic slope or simply relaxing around a crackling fire, Jasper is the place for you.

Jasper Town

Brimming with alpine town charm, Jasper is a small community that originated as a trading post and railway town – in fact, it was named after one of the post’s managers, Jasper Haws. Today you can stroll through its quaint streets, see local and Indigenous art in galleries, browse independent shops and boutiques and hang out in friendly pubs. With accommodation options ranging from alpine resorts to understated inns, Jasper is equipped to meet every need during your stay.
